About
Based in Copenhagen, Ariel is an artist with a background in interior design. She is currently undertaking an MA in Design at The Royal Danish Academy.
As a designer, she learned how environments affect the way people feel - how a quiet room can calm the body and how color can tease the subconscious forward.
Ariel's art is based in an exploration of color and the boundless emotions and atmospheres it creates. Each piece begins with looking inwards and aims to preserve a moment of calm through a practice of patience and intention.

An Eternal Refuge
Aro Design Studio is a practice grounded in sensitivity to place, light, and feeling.
When the world feels too fast, loud, and overstimulating, Ariel dives inwards to find a place of calm in her art. An eternal refuge that can only be held for a moment - like a fragment of a forgotten memory, lost on the edge of waking from a deep sleep. Sometimes adventurous and daring, sometimes peaceful and calm.
Her art is an exploration of that space created between breaths. It is an invitation to pause, to breathe and to reconnect with the underlying current that runs through all life.

Interior Designer to Artist
Ariel's art is strongly influenced by her background in architecture and design.
With a BFA in Interior Design from Pratt Institute in NYC and her current MA in design at the Royal Danish Academy, she continuously recycles her design experience and color theory back into her practice in order to create art that is meaningful and full of intention.
